WIA Visitor Info

Bendigo Amateur Radio & Electronics Club welcomes all WIA delegates and their partners to our beautiful city.

Bendigo is the largest rural city in Australia with a rich and fascinating history and many attractions.

You won't have time to see it all, so we encourage you to select a small number of these to visit during Saturday prior to the WIA AGM at 3:00PM.
But first, let's get you settled in.

1- Recommended Accommodation

All are reasonably priced and centrally located.
Only these motels will be served by the BAREC Courtesy Bus.
The WIA has secured a number of rooms at the Hotel Shamrock.
The Shamrock and small number of other motels are offering discounts to WIA delegates.
All motels listed fall within a narrow price range:

2- Courtesy Bus

BAREC will be providing a courtesy bus service at fixed times on Saturday to transport delegates to the Hotel Shamrock for the WIA AGM and Gala Dinner, and on Sunday to the Bendigo Technology Festival. Please note that the bus will stop only at the motels shown and that delegates must be ready to board when it arrives. We ask that you wait outside your motel from 2.30pm on Saturday and 9.00am on Sunday. The bus will arrive shortly and our helpers will be ready to assist you in boarding. You will be issued with a WIA delegate lanyard for the return journey. Please hold onto this as it is your return ticket! The return service will be announced at each venue.
